Do you like queer couples in your fiction? Do you like dystopias? Please read/watch No.6!!

I have been into dystopian literature since I became enamored with George Orwell's writing in 1984, Animal Farm, and various essays. When No.6's anime came out in 2011, I fell in love with it. I wanted these two kids to be happy forever in a world that's all too cruel to people who don't conform. I don't want to spoil it, so I won't say much more. Please go check it out for yourself!

I've done three shoots as Shion and loved each one. First, Jade took photos of just me. Then, I got my friend munabuns to be my hot date, Nezumi. After that, for a Halloween-themed shoot, I decided to channel Shion's tendency to become violent with Nezumi is in danger for a bloodied Shion.

The costume itself is all thrifted; the only thing I sewed was the cuffs to the sleeves.

This was also my first makeup challenge. I used a lip liner pencil and blush to make Shion's snake scar. I drew it from my left cheek to my ear and then around my neck. I had yet to learn about setting spray, so I used hairspray back then to set it, which didn't quite work out. I bleached the collar of that shirt after every time I cosplayed Shion.

Fun fact: we went to some abandoned railroad tracks for our NezuShi shoot! The only thing that could have made it even more perfect was a perfect red-orange setting sun.
